He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Ray Stephens and Carol Ann Stephens (Creekmore); and his parents-in-law, Ralph and Betty Higginbotham. He is survived by : his wife Tammy Higginbotham Stephens; his children, Thomas Clark Stephens and Sarah Elizabeth Stephens-McKinzey (David); his grandson Rory Clark Durham; his sister Teresa Ann Richardson (Curtis); his nephew Shawn Richardson (Heidi); his great-nephew Will Richardson; and his nephews, Mark Higginbotham and Elijah Higginbotham.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Croley Funeral Home (103 S 2nd St, Williamsburg, KY 40769). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Stephens Cemetery.
