He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey Messex and Wilma Harrington. He is survived by: his children, Kevin Messex (Sarah) of Colesville, CA and Kayla Phillips (Timmy) of Williamstown, KY; and his grandchildren, Wyatt Messex, Everly Messex, Keirra Phillips and Karolynn Phillips.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stanley Funeral Homes (500 N Main St, Williamstown, KY 41097). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
