She was predeceased by: her husband James John Coleman; her parents, John William and Cora Brooks Kays; and her siblings, John Kays, Allie Kays, Herbie Kays, Donnie Kays and Mary Elizabeth Cavnar.

She is survived by: her sons, Greg Coleman of Lexington and Russ Coleman (Lee) of Winchester; her grandchildren, Allie Markland (Ryan) of Winchester, Brooks Coleman of Madrid, Colby Coleman (Erika) of Huntersville and Drew Coleman of Seattle, Washington; her great grandchildren, Addison Markland of Winchester, Aubri of Huntersville and Shaylor Coleman of Huntersville; her aunt Nellie Kays Horn of Graefenberg, KY; and her sisters, Dorothy Hanna of Shelbyville, Margaret "Peggy" Kays of Winchester and Norma Barnett (Bill) of St. Petersburg, Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
