He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Arden Ferrell and Ada Pearl McKenzie Ferrell; his sisters, Betty Bates and Mary Ella Ferrell; his granddaughter Lorelai Sosby; and his former wife Bettye Carolyn Lanter Ferrell.
He is survived by: his wife Reta Goolman Ferrell; his children, Gregory Wayne Ferrell, Kelley Leigh Ferrell, Thad Allen Ferrell (Julie), Kathie Sosby (Ryan) and Lynanne Gallagher (Shawn); his grandchildren, Lucas Ferrell, Mackenzie Ferrell, Jacob Wheeler of Carolyn Ferrell, J. W, Mason Sosby, Brady Gallagher and Lily Gallagher; and his sister Dorothy Epperson. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
