James left this world on October 14, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Berry and Nannie Birch Berry. He is survived by: his wife Geneva Berry; his children, Denisa Mastin (Ron) of Hendersonville, Joan Sams (Keith) of Winchester, Kentucky and Brian Berry of Winchester; his grandchildren, Sarah Sams, Thomas Berry, Sophie Sams, Derek Mastin and John David Mastin; and his sister Judy Hunt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Scobee Funeral Home (219 W Lexington Ave, Winchester, KY 40391). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Christian Church (15 Redwing Dr, Winchester, KY 40391).
