He was predeceased by: his parents, Walker Elkin and Alta Elkin; his brothers, Tom Elkin and Pete Elkin; his niece Alta Robinson; his nephew Eric Elkin; and his brother-in-law Stanley South.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jones Elkin; his siblings, Jane Sampson (Ernie), Marlene South and Shelby Elkins (Kelsey); his sister-in-law Betty King; his nieces and nephews, Christy Mingue, Michelle Black, Casey King, Mike South, Keith South, Scotty Elkin, Todd Sampson and Tim Sampson; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cameron Wells and Destiny King; and his friend Tommy Hamm.
