He was predeceased by: his father John Dee Hurt; his brother Thomas Hurt; and his brother-in-law Danny Ledford. He is survived by: his mother Lillian Joann McCoy Harris; his children, Jodie Johnson, Robert Shelley, Josh Thomas, Crystal Hurt, Chanda Vasquez and Branden Willoughby; his sisters, Barbara Ledford and Rita Rogers; and his former wife Sharon Hedger. He is also survived by twelve loving grandchildren.
