We announce the death of LD Hester of Wurtland, Kentucky, who passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 89. LD will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Daniel Hester and Mollie John McCright Hester; and his brothers, Ordie Daniel Hester, Donald Hester and John Henry Hester.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean Smith Hester; his sons, Jeffrey Hester of Batesville, Gary Scott Hester of Batesville and Larry Dean Hester of Batesville; his granddaughter Heather Michelle Meyers of Kentucky; his stepdaughters, Trudy Roar (Pete) of Kentucky and Etty Watte (Jim) of Indiana; and his caregivers, Mike and Angelee Bressler. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
