He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Howell and Mildred Cowley Howell; his former wife Flora "Dolly" Howell; and his grandson Billy Robertson. He is survived by: his wife Wendy Gautreau Howell; and his children, Gary Cowley Howell Jr. (Shannon Howell), Karline Cadwell Kelley, Bonnie Lee Howell, Teri Howell Powell (Willie Daigle) and Rebecca Howell Bourke (Christopher Bourke). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
