He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Edward, Olar Johnson, Harvey and Estella Young; his parents, Alvin Vernon Johnson and Annie Young Cruz; his foster parents, Whitney LeBlanc and Doretha LeBlanc; his brothers, Preston Johnson and Johnny Fruge; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Jarrell and Ronnie Phillips.
He is survived by: his former spouse Shirley Johnson; his children, Willis Johnson, Whitney Johnson and Crystal Johnson; his grandchildren, Deacon Quebedeaux and Karen Decou (Billy Decou); his great grandchildren, Katherine Decou, Josephine Decou and Bryson Decou; and his sisters, Judy Delcomyn (Jack Delcomyn), Gloria Jarrell, Connie Phillips, Cathy Morrel (Rick Morrel), Barbara J. Thibodeaux (Burnell Thibodeaux), Verna Fruge and Emma Fruge Castillo.
