He was predeceased by: his wife Sheila Petry; his father Ivan Petry; his sister Taffy Chargois; and his grandparents, Gardard Shelvin Sr., Olive Shelvin, Joseph Petry and Susan Petry.
He is survived by: his daughter Lori W. Newton of Abbeville, LA; his grandchild Mitisha Rice (Kirby) of Abbeville, LA; his great grandchildren, Keosha Rice and Keyiada Wilson; his mother Ada Shelvin Petry of Abbeville, LA; and his siblings, Kenneth Petry, Ross Petry, Jeretha Ardoin and Lisa Harris (Richard). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
