She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Chauvin; and her parents, Harlan Young and Catherine Young. She is survived by: her children, Todd Chauvin, Pamela Chauvin Trahan, Kimberly Etie' (Shawn) and Clayton Chauvin; and her brother David Young. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to an animal rescue, planting a tree, or any gesture that honors Janet's love for living things.
