It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Mae Aube Duhon of Abbeville, Louisiana, born in Kaplan, Louisiana, who passed away on July 26, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Aube and Leah Simon Aube; her husband Henry "Black" Duhon; her brothers, Weston Aube of Thibodeaux and Lousay Aube of Meaux; and her son-in-law John Hesterly of Lafayette.
She is survived by: her children, Kay Duhon Hesterly of Lafayette and John Duhon (Andrea Scott Duhon) of Frisco, TX; her grandchildren, Piper Hesterly Browne (Justin Browne) of Austin, TX and Joseph Hesterly (Merritt Longman) of Lafayette; her great grandchildren, Emme, Hollis and Edie Browne of Austin, TX; her stepgrandsons, Matthew and Christian Scott of Frisco, TX.; and her caregivers, Johanna, Reece and Alexis.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either one of Lula's passionate causes made her memory to University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Alumni Association, 600 E. Saint Mary Blvd., Lafayette, LA 70503 or St. Jules Catholic Church, 116 Saint Jules St., Lafayette, LA 70506.
