He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Schexnailder Sr. and Bunice Berard; and his siblings, Frank Schexnailder, John L. Schexnailder, Verna Yentzen, Judy Angelle and Rose Knott.

He is survived by: his granddaughter Abby Schexnailder; his daughters-in-law, Amanda and Jennifer Schexnailder; his wife Beverly LaBry Schexnailder of Kaplan; his sons, Chad Schexnailder (Jennifer) of Abbeville and John Schexnailder (Amanda) of Duson; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Grant, Kate and Sadie; his siblings, Jessie "Jay" Schexnailder (Deanna), Maurice Schexnailder Jr. (Norma) and Cynthia "Cindy" (Deacon Kenneth Soignier); and his siblings-in-law, Curtis Knott, Conley Frederick, Bonnie Schexnailder, Myrna Frederick and Darlene LaBry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
