He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Franks Varnell and Mack Varnell, Sr.; his wife Lorene B. Varnell; his grandson Ryan Frank Kovach; and his siblings, Andrew Varvell, Mack Varnell, Jr. and Glenver Marie Varnell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Glenva Puma (Larry), Delta Kovach (Frank) and Shirley Hoback (Vernon); his grandchildren, Shawn Crawford (Jonny Daniel), George Crawford, Jr., Bridgett K. Mack (Shane), Amy M. Watts (Jim), Wyatt Crawford (Natasha), Kyle McKaskle (Amy) and Robin Crawford; and his great grandchildren, Sierra, Dylan, Mindy, Annabelle, Emma, Emily, Leah, Brady, Elizabeth, Adalyn, Charlie, Sadie and Lincoln.
