He was predeceased by: his wife Sheran Allen; his son Jerry Don Allen; his parents, John O. Allen and Gladys Brown Allen; and his siblings, Hershel Allen, Maynah Allen Barker and Melanie Allen Beebe.
He is survived by: his daughter Lydia Allen Cortello (Glenn); his partner Beyrl Kjerulf; his grandchildren, Donna LeeAnn Allen Crane (Scott) and Brandon Vercher; and his great grandchildren, Cassie Nicole ParPart, Eva Crane and Emalyn Kathleen Vercher.
This work ethic served him well as he worked his way up from carpenter, to foreman to a skilled construction superintendent with Tudor Construction and Ratcliff Construction, making significant contributions to the community, including new construction from ground up to remodeling the Bentley Hotel to the Louisiana State Police (Troop E Headquarters) and the Family Life Center at the POA, just to name a few.
