With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dwight Auward Sayes (Alexandria, Louisiana), born in Vick, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 24, 2026 at the age of 98. He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Sayes; his parents, Kirby Sayes and Eunice Sayes; his brother Aubrey Dean Sayes; and his grandson Kirby Benoit.
He is survived by: his children, Dawna Guzak (Robert), Warren Sayes (Karen), Susan Benoit (Robert) and Tracy Van Hart (Jim); his grandchildren, Erin Sayes Kenny (Eric), Cameron Sayes, Maxie Benoit, Shelby Van Hart Puett (Ryan), Matthew Guzak, Chloe Van Hart and Kristin Guzak Houser (Sutton); and his great grandchildren, Brooks Kenny, Max Kenny and Samuel Puett.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Petie's memory be directed to The Reformed University Fellowship (givetoruf.org) - Alec Moyer, ULL Campus Minister.
