He was predeceased by: his sons, Charles Aaron Hailey and George Wesley Hailey; and his sisters, Cora Belle Hailey, Georgia Jones and Beth May.
He is survived by: his wife Thalia Davis Hailey; his children, Connie Hailey Masters (Dinky), Kathy Hailey McKenzie (Ronnie Mac), Earl David Hailey, Jr., Tommy Ike Hailey (Debra Jo), Darrell Davis and Benny Hailey (Karen); and his sisters, Ikie Mae Henderson, Vera "Shine" Walker and Orlean "Teen" Davidson (Charles "Bubba"). He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Earl's honor to the Michael Dempsey Lodge Dyslexia Foundation.
