He was predeceased by: his siblings, Darlene Posey Sharp, Mabel Fuller and Carrol Ray Posey. He is survived by: his wife Sue Posey; his children, Russell Posey (Sherry), Chuck Posey (Sherri) and Dora Posey-Jones (Benny); his grandchildren, Joey Posey (Kelly), Charlie Posey (Mindy), Cody Jones (Kelsie) and Lacinda Posey-Smith (Walter); and his great grandchildren, Jada, Olivia, Miley Jo, Kelsi, Cameron, Juniper, Barrett, Hannah, Dawson, Gracie and Tyler.
