He is survived by: his wife Jane Emerson Hoog; his son Steven Hoog (Alexandria); his sister Betty Shade (Floyd); his son-in-law Todd Dabbs (Carla); his grandchildren, Anthony Dabbs (Faith) and Lauren Reeves (Justin); and his great grandchildren, Noah Samuel Dabbs, Addyson Mae Dabbs, Willow Diane Dabbs, Olivia Jane Dabbs and Elizabeth Kate Reeves.
