He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Hickman and Claudia Price Hickman; and his siblings, Charlie Hickman and Claudine Hickman Wilkerson. He is survived by: his children, Caryl Shawn Henry (Hickman), Shannon Gayle Clark (Hickman), Shayne Regnery (Hickman) and Shad Owens Hickman; and his wife Sunshine Boone. He is also survived by his children, his eight grand-children and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of his wife and friend Sunshine Hickman.
