He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Patten and Evelyn Patten; his siblings, Janette Patten Coley, Glyn Patten and Avery Patten; his niece Natalie Patten; his nephew Ernest Coley; and his mother-in-law Gayle Meredith.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Gayle Meredith-Patten of Olla; his children, Valcom Glyn Patten of Olla, Meagan Alexis Patten (Jenna Manso) of St. Amant, Katlyn Morgan Patten (Aaron Johnson) of Urania and Kensley Victoria Patten (Jorey Jenkins) of Jena; his siblings, Sherri Skinner of Jonesville and James "Timbo" Patten (Hope) of Jonesville; his aunts and uncles, Leon Patten (Theresa) of Jonesville, Joe Tullos of Manifest, Bib Patten of Jonesville, Toostie Patten of Jonesville and Carolyn Patten of Harrisonburg; and his grandchildren, Rayven Maynor, Phoenix Maynor, Phoebe Manso, Kaylee Silas, Mia Silas, Zaiden Johnson, Skylar Gayle Johnson and Jonas Jenkins. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
