He was predeceased by: his parents, William B. Higgins and Patricia Avery Higgins; his stepfather Dr. Dencil R. Taylor; his nephew Taylor Anson; and his brother-in-law Walter D. Lafargue.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Estrada Higgins; his sister Marion Higgins Prchal (John); his sister-in-law Cheryl Estrada Lafargue; his nephew John Nolan Ezell (Shelly); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maddison and John Garrett.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home (701 Jackson St, Alexandria, LA 71301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home (701 Jackson St, Alexandria, LA 71301).
