With sadness, we share the passing of John Michael Dykes (Amelia, Louisiana). John, born on February 10, 1951 in Big Lake, Texas, passed away on September 26, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie James Dykes and Margaret Carolyn Ayers. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Schexnayder Dykes; his sons, Scott Dykes (Jo-Anna) and Jason Dykes (Ginger); his grandson Sebastian Dykes; and his siblings, James "Jimmy", Thomas "Tommy" Dykes and Sandra "Sandy" Roundy. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-law, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Andrew Catholic Church (833 Julia St, Amelia, LA 70340). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew Catholic Church (833 Julia St, Amelia, LA 70340). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the St Joseph Cemetery (100 E Milton Ave, Lafayette, LA 70508).
