She was predeceased by : her parents, Fairley Mingo and Kathline Mingo; her husband Jackie Ray Brister; and her siblings, Dorthoy Peters, Mazie McGowan, Ulies Peters and Author Mingo.

She is survived by : her children, Leon Mingo of Angie, Janey Brister of Angie and Jackie Brister of Angie; and her sisters, Weddie Brister of Angie, Lee Peters of New Orleans and Claretta Robinson (Stanley) of Angie. She is also survived by twenty eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
