He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernon Guy Dennis, Sr. and Vera Newsom Dennis; his wife Patsy Seal Dennis; his sister Mae Evelyn Dennis Haring; and his pet Spooky.

He is survived by : his children, Terry Dennis (Lynn), Paula Dennis and Melanie Dennis; his grandchildren, Travis Dennis (Ky), Tara Dennis Atchley (Josh) and Megan Freeland (Jamie); his great grandchildren, Sky Dennis, Joshua Atchley, Hannah Atchley and Johnny Atchley; and his sister Patsy Ruth Dennis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
