It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alene Cowart Klein of Baldwin, Louisiana, who passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Jackson Cowart Jr. and Lottie Inez Crosby Cowart; her husband George F. Klein Jr.; and her siblings, Vesta Cowart Curry (Charles), Leon Cowart (Frances), Lottie Vell Faircloth and Lester Cowart.
She is survived by: her children, James Patrick Klein, Sheila Nichols and Katie Hedges (Lee); her grandchildren, Andrew "Andy" Klein, Jessica Carlisle, Justin Klein, Brittany Bourgeois, Brandy Poché, Samantha Hedges, Stephanie Hedges, Brock Poché, Brice Poché, Kalee Hedges and Breanna Hedges; and her sister Lillian Waldrop. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
