He is survived by: his children, Leroy Carter (Stephanie) of Deville, Vernon Carter (Kathy) of Pollock, William Carter, Jr. of Homer, Janet Nugent of Dry Prong and Joyce Chandler of Ball; and his sister Mary Lou Blackshear of Lafayette. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
