It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Earl Estes of Basile, Louisiana, who passed away on July 16, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Jesus. He is survived by: his wife Montez Head Estes of Basile; his children, Michael L. Estes (Lisa) of Grayson, LA and Marjeanne Estes of San Diego, CA; his daughter-in-law Janet Estes of Elton, LA.; his siblings, Donald Estes (Barbara) of Newport, RI, Neal Estes (Peggy) of Spring, TX. and Judith Estes; and his grandchildren, Lee Michael Estes (Daina), Mitchell Estes, Amber Estes, Emily Estes Bandeaux (Alex) and Sarah Estes. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to Gideons International or First Baptist Church of Basile.
