He was predeceased by: his former wife Sissy Porter; his daughters, Donna Jean Porter and Sondra Marie Porter; his parents, Gabe Porter and Maxine Porter; and his siblings, Betty Lou Porter, Ronnie Porter and Elizabeth Graves.

He is survived by: his wife Glenda Sue Porter; his children, J. J. Brannon (Thomas) of Monroe, LA, Karen Lowery of Longview, AR, Kimberly Johnson (David) of Hamburg, AR, Lee Savage (Zhai) of Lake Jackson, TX and T. Tom Harrison (Christina) of Beaumont, TX; and his siblings, Mary Green (Glen) of Oak Grove, LA, Shirley Porter, Leon Porter (Trudy) of Prescott, AR, Kenneth Porter (Cricket) of West Monroe, LA, Gabe Porter, Jr., Mike Sudduth (Linda) of Bastrop, LA, Richard Carpenter (Wanda) of Mer Rouge, LA and Jimmy Graves of Bastrop, LA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
