He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dudley "J. D." Hattaway and Virginia Elizabeth Ludwig Hattaway; and his sisters, Ernestine Matheny and Betty Jean Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Gladys Abraugh Hattaway; his son John Dwain Hattaway (Sherry); his grandson John Peyton Hattaway (Jyssica); his great grandchild Nora Hattaway; and his siblings, Brooks Hattaway (Sarah), Annie Mae Thompson and Doris Hampton (Bill). He is also survived by extended family and friends.
