It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E Porter of Bastrop, Louisiana, who passed away on May 19, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her husband Thurman Porter; her children, Sharon Mitcham (Steve Mitcham), Teresa Preston, Martez Walters (Steve Walters), Linda Hernandez (Antonio Hernandez) and Carlton Porter (Rebecca Porter); and her sister Lola Smith. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Funeral Home (2016 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home (2016 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220).
