It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philip Benson Carpenter of Bastrop, Louisiana, who passed away on January 4, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Carpenter and Elsie Carpenter; and his brothers, William "Billy" Thomas Carpenter, Jr., Serving, Guy Parker, Lee Tugwell II, John Michael Yeldell, Mac McCarthy, Danny Wells and Gary Rasmussen.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Tolbird of West Monroe, Louisiana.; his son Philip Scott Carpenter (Ashly); his friend Linda Carpenter Farmer; his sister Rosemary Carpenter White (Bob); his nephews, Seth White (Kim) and William Thomas Carpenter, III (Karen); and his niece Allison White Ross (Grant). He is also survived by two great nieces, and three great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil's memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 222 South Washington Street, Bastrop, Louisiana 71220 or to the Synder Museum, 1620 East Madison Avenue, Bastrop, Louisiana 71220 would be especially appreciated.
