He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Gayle Johnston; his parents, Bennie Alexander and Mary Elsie Johnston; his siblings, Betty Jean Linzay, Margie Faye McCrary and Bennie Wayne Johnston; his brothers-in-law, Donald Ray Yates and Herman Shelby Yates; and his nephew Stephen Ray "Goob" Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Nicole White (Damon) of Bossier, LA and Brandon Johnston (Christina) of Sterlington, LA; his sisters-in-law, Becky Yates and Dee Yates of Bastrop, LA; his grandchildren, Kylie Francis (Caleb), Brayden White, Addyson White, Kaitlynn Oser (Brayden) and Landon Johnston; and his great grandchildren, Chelsea Lynne Oser and Amelia Francis.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home (2016 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220).
