Blanca Mejia Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Blanca Mejia in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 6, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Macario Estrada López and Blanca; her cousin Bonilla; and her sisters, Gloría Kallinsky, Carmen López, Doris Juneau and Amanda Estrada López.
She is survived by: her husband José T. Mejía; her children, Alexandra Blackwood (Jim King), Pablo Mejía (Lynette Mejía), Vicky Mejía (Darren McGrath) and Doris Mejía (Jacob Brumfield); her brother José Macario Estrada; her cousin Isabel Otero Bravo Estrada; her niece María "Milú" Calderón Gámez Bourgeois (Magnel Bourgeois); her grandchildren, Jane King, Owen King, Kate Tamburello, Brandon Tamburello, Ali Mejía, Declan McGrath Mejía, Luna McGrath Mejía, Sebastian Brumfield Mejía and Soraya Brumfield Mejía; and her nephew Juan Carlos Mejía Narváez (Diana Rivera Medina).
She expressed the best way to honor her would be to attend a Mass in her memory, donate to charity, and to smile when you think of her.
