He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh John Braymer and Faye Campbell Braymer. He is survived by: his grandsons, Ben and Jack Braymer; his children, Betsy Webb (Mitchell), Arden Smith Whitley (Chi) of Austin, Texas and Mitchell Smith of Orlando, Florida; his great grandchildren, Lydia and Alice Webb; his former wife Marilyn Braymer; his wife Gail Braymer; his stepchildren, Courtney Lea Nelson, Allison Dixie Samrow, Summer Sunshine Domingue, Jonathan Franklin Kilroy and Catherine Ellen Kilroy; his caregivers, Rani Peters, Tiffany Davis, Daci Royal and Jearlin Dunn; John Allen Braymer (Lorilin Gibbens Braymer) and Dr. Joffa Lyn Braymer.

Honorary donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in his memory.
