He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Beasley Portero; his daughters, Charlotte A. Portero (Tommy Richard Moon Sr.) and Deborah Portero Travis; his brother Charles Portero; his granddaughter Jennifer Travis Holmes (John Wilks Holmes); and his great grandchildren, Jackson Wilks Holmes and Jensen Wilks Holmes.
