Eddie Leon Newton Jr. Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eddie Leon Newton Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 13, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Newton Sr. and Pinkey Matthews Newton. He is survived by: his children, Yolandra Newton, Roderic Newton, Phaedra Cusic and Nicole Newton; his close friend Lucille Ghoram; his grandchildren, Jerica Mitchell, Roderic RJ Newton, Alana Buckley and Paris Jones (Wendal); his great grandchildren, Harlee Hill, Denver Jones and Devyn Baker Jr.; and also, Lahoma Harris and Sedrick Ghoram. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Promise Land Baptist Church (7234 Plank Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70811). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Promised Land Baptist Church (7234 Plank Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70811).
