He was predeceased by: his parents, Baron P. Mayer and Kathleen "Kaye" Duncan Mayer; and his siblings, William Mayer, Ellen Mayer Roberson and Emily Mayer Ashburn.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Brundege Mayer; his daughters, Dr. Christen Leigh Mayer of Madisonville and Karen Elizabeth Woods of Charlotte, N. C.; and his sisters, Nancy Mayer Nixon of Rocky Mount, N. C. and Marty Mayer of Middleburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor F.B.'s memory may be made to Samaritan's Purse to aid the people of the North Carolina mountains, which he dearly loved.
