She was predeceased by: her parents, Devoe Brooks and Celia Brooks; her siblings, Patricia Ford (Sidney) and Ronald Brooks; her son-in-law Charles Spillman; and her former husband Roy Hernandez, Jr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Hillary Hernandez Spillman (Todd Trosclair) and Amy Hernandez Haltom (Jimmy Haltom, Jr.); and her grandchildren, Chelsea Prine (Patrick), Carley Spillman, Aubrey Haltom, Emma Haltom and James Haltom III. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rabenhorst Funeral Home & Crematory East (11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
