With sadness, we share the passing of James Chapman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. James, born on October 10, 1935 in Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on August 31, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Melba Ann Verret Chapman; his son Jamie; his parents, James Hubert and Nellie Jo Chapman (Faith); and his brother Howard Donnie Chapman of Calhoun.
He is survived by: his daughters, Danielle Chapman Gremillion and Michelle Chapman Dwyer; his son-in-law Keith; his grandchildren, Blaine Chapman, Chase Croy and Faith Gremillion; and his great grandchildren, Vivienne, Daisy Chapman (Blaine), Cooper and Liliana Croy (Chase).
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Broadmoor Baptist Church (9755 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
