Jane Laycock Staples Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jane Laycock Staples of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Knox Laycock and Berta Holland Laycock; her husband John Batson Staples, Jr.; her son David R. Staples; and her sisters, Ann Laycock Wise and Berta Laycock Mayer.
She is survived by: her sons, John Bowman Staples (Cindy Purvis) and Douglas Clark Staples (Debbie Hudson); and her grandsons, John "Bo" Bowman Staples Jr., Zachary Brian Staples and Rickey Joseph Buhler. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces, nephews.
A reception will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rabenhorst Funeral Home East (11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jane's name to Hospice of Baton Rouge.
