With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lela Mae Patin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born in Slaughter, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 4, 2025 at the age of 69. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Lee Davis and Beatrice Turner-Davis; her husband Melvin Patin, Sr.; her brothers, Robert Lee Davis and Henry Turner; and her aunts and uncles, Mable Parker, Helen Langley, Ethel Lee Parker, Johnny L. Turner, Moses Turner, Jessie Turner and Herman Turner.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Hart (Micheal), Lonita Smith (Marvin) and Melvin Patin (Kristin); her siblings, Aggie Davis, Rickey Davis (Lorraine) of Slaughter, Louisiana, Hermon Davis of Slaughter, Louisiana, Gary Lynn Davis of Slaughter, Louisiana and Jefferey Davis of Slaughter, Louisiana; her aunt Ruth Kleinpeter; and her grandchildren, Briley Reed, Jr., Travis Williams, Melvin Patin III, D'Andre Patin, LaKeshia Reed, Allyssa Smith, India Patin and Asia Patin. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
