She was predeceased by: her husband Bobbie Joe Harrell, Sr.; her parents, Brice Achord and Lucille Achord; her in-laws, Aubrey and Lenora Smith Harrell; her siblings, Brice Achord, III and Barbara Quinn Nichols; her son James Hutchinson, Jr.; her sons-in-law, Chris Matthews, MD and Dewayne Thornton; and her grandson James Matthews.
She is survived by: her children, Ben Saclo, Jr. (Bentena) of Bothel, Washington, Vickie Populas (Terry) of Independence, LA, Bobbie Joe Harrell, Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, Debbie Thornton Favaron (Ronnie) of Denham Springs, Barbara Saclo Matthews (late Chris, MD) of Kingsport, TN, Cynthia Lulu Saclo (Toni Maria Harrell) of Central, LA and Richard Harrell (Tami) of Walker, LA.; and her close friends, Shawntel Landry and Ethan Simmers. She is also survived by twenty four grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (3650 O'Neal Ln, Baton Rouge, LA 70816). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations collected will be given to Heart and Soul Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Louisiana in Joann's memory.
