Marilyn Helmke Newman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn Helmke Newman (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 5, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Shirley Reynolds Hearne; her brother J. Homer Helmke; and her sister-in-law Inez Helmke. She is survived by: her sons, Ja Newman (Betty) and Dan Newman (Becky); her grandchildren, Kristy Miller (Jay), Alexandra Buckley (Sean), Lauren Dorado (Paulo), Marilyn Hellebuyck (Sebastian), James Newman (Kaitlyn), Chase Newman (Abigail) and Sam Newman; and her great grandchildren, Grant Miller, Cataleya Hellebuyck, Calliope Dorado and Mayumi Dorado. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
