With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marshall Joseph Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who passed away on June 17, 2025 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marshall Joseph Jr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Darensbourg Honoré and Marshall Joseph Honoré, Sr.; his wife Grace Ricard Honoré; his siblings, H. Harvey Honoré, Sr., Elsie H. Bates and Ceola H. Marcelle; and his parents-in-law, Stafford Ricard, Sr. and Eunice Allain Ricard.
He is survived by: his children, Deirdre Honoré Jones (Irvin), Byron F. Honoré (Suzanne), Lilburn H. Bonnie (Terry), Curtis J. Honoré and Lauren H. Hooks (Maurice); his grandchildren, Kimani Sherman (Tianay), Khalid Sherman (Denise), Kashi Sherman, Kasey Sherman, Kelly Sherman, Natasha Thomas, Gabriel Honoré, Phillip Honoré, Jordan Honoré (Roman), Colby Honoré, Noah Honoré, Terry Bonnie-Septh (Alex), Kwa Bonnie, Phalo Bonnie, Shaun Bonnie, Lily Mojica (Eduardo) and Grace Hooks; his brother Thomas Honoré; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Ricard Kennedy and Jan Honoré. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (1120 Myrtle Walk St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802). A rosary will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
