He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Howes and Mildred Howes (Pittman); and his wife Eleanor Barnett Howes. He is survived by: his son Rev. Michael A. Howes (Sue); his grandchildren, Michael R. Howes (Cece) and Emily Hanna Howes; and his brother Terry Howes (Sue). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge or the Baton Rouge Gallery Center for Contemporary Art.
