With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Newton Buckner Thomas of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Newton Buckner may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM at the St. James Episcopal Church (205 N 4th St, Baton Rouge, LA 70801). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
