The memory of Olivia Carter of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born in Lakeland, Louisiana, who passed away on October 30, 2025 at the age of 80, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Cenas Jones and Julia Moore Jones; and her husband George Carter. She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Matthews and Ivan Carter (Toccara); her grandchildren, Destiny and Micaiah Carter; her sons, Rekai Matthews, Chetwin II (Latoya), Chambers Carter and Ian Carter; her siblings, Earnest Jones, Cenas Jones (Jacqueline), Carolyn Jones, Collins (Eugene) of Florida, Thelma Jones and Irma Johnson; her sister-in-law Thelma L. Jones; and her children-in-law, Sivitra Carter and Monty Matthews. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New Light Missionary Baptist Church (650 Blount Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70807).
