She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvro L. Bowers and Lydia Rigaud of Empire; her brother Lionel "Pete" Bowers; her former husband Robert M. "Maurice" Holmes; her husband Arthur P. Duffel of Kenner; and her granddaughter Allyson M. Kirby.
She is survived by: her sister Joyce Bowers Ruettger of Belle Chasse; her children, Wayne S. Holmes (Debbie), Michael R. Holmes of Belle Chasse and Lydia H. Kirby (John) of Mathews; her grandchildren, Christopher Holmes (Laura) of Cypress, Jeffrey Holmes of Austin, Matthew Kirby and Madison Holmes of Baltimore; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Anna, Benjamin Holmes of Cypress and Mallory Kirby of Broussard; her goddaughter Jane Bowers Mahon of Lumberton; and her stepchildren, Cindy Smith of Pollack and Ray Duffel (Vickie) of Destrehan. She is also survived by married in 1949 and raised three children in Empire, La. while her husband, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
